Salesforce.org Adds To Education And Nonprofit Clouds

CRM giant Salesforce has announced new innovations and features for its Nonprofit and Education Clouds to offer the CRM tools to flourish and stay afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

The innovations in Education Cloud and Nonprofit Cloud are designed to assist educational institutions and nonprofits raise funds and maximize their impact. The new features introduced by Salesforce include a suite of integrated offerings to evolve advancement and fundraising, streamlined experiences to increase staff capacity, tools to build transparency in financial systems and manage day-to-day programs at scale.

In a statement, Salesforce.org CEO Rob Acker said we recognize that it’s more important now than ever to create digital-first experiences for all communities no matter where they are. Acker added the world needs nonprofits and educational institutions to continue their services to constituents and to make sure learning never stops for students. It was also commented by the Salesforce.org CEO that the latest products respond to our community’s needs both in the short and long term as we all prepare for the future.

This summer, Salesforce.org is making its Elevate suite of online fundraising products generally available. It includes the following:

  • Engagement Hub that drives ongoing engagement with alumni and donors through a central hub for all giving and volunteering activities.
  • Payment Services that offers an end-to-end payment processing solution for educational institutions and nonprofits built into NPSP and GEM to accept payments by making the use of Giving Pages or custom web donation forms via an extensible payments API.
  • Giving Pages, a single-and recurring-donation solution to create donation forms for online sites. Data flows automatically from Giving Pages into the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) or into Gift Entry Manager (GEM) for education customers.

Dave Simon, director of information technology at the Sierra Club, in a statement, said Salesforce.org Elevate will make significant strides in delivering a robust fundraising solution for nonprofit organizations like Sierra Club. Simon added we are especially excited about Salesforce.org Payment Services, which enables organizations to connect outside web pages to Nonprofit Cloud using the payments API.

Salesforce.org also added the following:

  • Nonprofit Cloud Case Management for scaling personalized care on a platform that assists track case plans, notes, incidents, assessments, services, and outcomes.
  • Program Management Module, a free extension of the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) that offers a unified view across all platforms.

In addition to Elevate, Accounting Subledger is a tool that brings finance and fundraising together. Consistency is maintained by advancement and development teams maintain consistency in pledges, financial records, and payments across fundraising and finance systems. This helps administrators perform more with less by increasing trust and transparency. Now, the backend accounting system can be easily updated with your incoming donation or gift by using Accounting Subledger. Rick Houston, director of advancement services at Gordon College, said the Accounting Subledger is exactly what we needed to make our gift entry system in Salesforce complete.

Heath Parks, director of information technology at Cincinnati Works, in a statement, remarked he was proud to be a part of the build process for the Nonprofit Cloud Case Management working with the Salesforce.org product team. Parks added the tool is built to mimic how a service provider works in their day-to-day and said our clients deserve the best and there’s nothing else out there like this. The director of information technology at Cincinnati Works also said users can manage all of your program operations in the same system as your fundraising and engagement, which for today’s nonprofit, is critical so we can scale to accomplish our mission.
