Salesforce Debuts K-12 Contact Tracing

Salesforce has announced that schools would now be able to utilize a new platform that will assist districts reopen sites methodically and safely.

Work.com, which was announced in late spring, includes tailored public health data and functionality for wellness checks and contact tracing. It was claimed by the world’s number 1 customer relationship management organization that it will help staff and administrators navigate reopening and management of campus safety.

Work.com for Schools is available at a nominal price of $15 a year,with an additional cost for contact tracing.

Work.com for Schools is the technology command center that administers real-life data to make informed decisions, [like] contact tracing so schools can track the spread of the virus in the case of an infection,” Salesforce Vice President for Education Initiatives Ron Smith said. “It enables schools to manage their facilities and shift scheduling.” It was further added by Smith that Work.com for Schools will also provide schools with the ability to effortlessly assess whether staff or students are healthy and can return back to school.

it will also help schools quickly provide updates to community members and families through text messages. The Silicon Valley giant while announcing Work.com for Schools also announced another round of investments for five school districts in which it has invested previously: Indianapolis public schools, Chicago public schools, San Francisco Unified School District, Oakland USD, and the New York City Department of Education.

The Oakland and San Francisco districts will each receive $9 million, while the other three will each receive $500,000. A part of the Oakland investment will be utilized to offer specific support to unaccompanied immigrant youth, asylum seekers, and refugees while the larger sums will support schools in addressing challenges wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Donations to Chicago, Indianapolis, and New York City will support equity initiatives, professional development, and other areas.
